Full Spectrum CBD and CBD Isolate

There is a growing interest and enthusiasm in the benefits that CBD oil provides to people suffering from pain, inflammation, anxiety, and other conditions.  Although there is plenty of information about the variety of CBD available, many would like to know the difference between full spectrum CBD and CBD isolate.

Brief Description of CBD

CBD (cannabidiol) is one of many cannabinoids like THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), CBG (cannabigerol), and CBN (cannabinol), to name a few, found in the cannabis plant.  The benefits and effects that each cannabinoid has on the body depend on the molecular structure and properties of the cannabinoid.

Cannabinoids work with the endocannabinoid system (ECS) of the body.  The ECS has receptors throughout the body that are involved in establishing maintenance and internal balance in the body.

CBD, for example, works with the ECS to support the body while alleviating pain, relieving anxiety, reducing inflammation and balancing other conditions. CBD is not psychoactive like THC which could make the individual feel “high”.

CBD Formulas:  Full Spectrum and CBD Isolate

Full spectrum CBD means that it may contain other cannabinoids.  It contains very low traces of THC (0.3% or less).

CBD isolate is just CBD that has been isolated from other cannabinoids.  CBD isolate is a purified form of CBD where only CBD remains.

Full Spectrum CBD Vs. CBD Isolate

  • Since full spectrum CBD also contains other cannabinoids, its capabilities are more than those of CBD isolate.
  • CBD isolate is ideal for those who may only want the beneficial properties of CBD.
  • Full spectrum has traces of THC (0.3% or less) which might trigger positive drug tests.
  • CBD isolate do not have traces of THC; therefore, some people feel more comfortable taking drug tests.
  • There might be cases in which certain cannabinoids of the full spectrum CBD formula could have an undesirable effect.
  • With the CBD isolate formula the person can feel confident that there will be no side effects of other cannabinoids.

Both formulas are excellent natural alternatives to support certain medical conditions without the negative effects of many medical prescribed drugs.
